And please note, when I say "Work Best With" I don't mean they're entirely exclusive to that race. Like for example, Sora's Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts originally was modeled with a Tarutaru... And Archduke Kam'lanaut's Sword (With Purple Orb) was modeled for use with Mithra. However I tried both as a Sword in the "Main Weapon" slot for my Elvaan Male character and they worked just fine! However, weapons like "Cloud's Buster Sword" wouldn't work on my Elvaan Male character. In fact, it pops up in a very bizzare place. Under my character's shoulder instead of on his back. The reason for this, as Skaw (75 Hume Male MNK from Quetzalcoatl) explained, is because in the design of the graphics for this game, the developers did not set an "Attach Point" for the weapon graphics. I finally stopped slacking and finally got on with it. A minor note about the following update. First off, when I added the Kazham Mithra Chieftainess' Headdress, I hadn't uploaded the .DAT for it yet. Next, let's talk about the items in today's update. First off, whoever made this Nude Body Set for Hume Female almost CERTAINLY has an absolute eye for detail, even better than mine! He actually went to the trouble of creating several body types for women who have different shaped breasts... (Hey! HEY! Yes, I said "Breasts"! stop giggling, darn it! We're not in Elementary School you know!) He made "A" cups, "D" cups, and even different sizes for women who don't usually wear Bras (if you catch my drift). As it might be disturbing for some of you to hear me talking about the "leg parts" this guy made... Guess what? I'mma do it anyway! Hahaha! Well, he provided atleast 5 different leg types... And for the bare parts... He actually went to the trouble of... ummm... well, he actually sculpted "Lips"... ya dig? Moving right along, I also inserted a "Bikini" set for Hume Female. Basically, I stumbled across some of these files while rooting around through miscellaneous DATs I got by leeching various Japanese resources. My homegirl Nicolette has once again provided more sources. And I've even been getting positive feedback from users on other servers such as Unicorn and Ifrit (I'm on Quetzalcoatl. Remember?). Heck, even one devoted user decided to submit some DAT creations of avatars he found. I'm including them in this set. Also there's some .DATs that were custom made for some people in an old personal request thread at Allakhazam.com. The "Custom" Avatar Series is what was given to me through E-mail by said "devoted user". Lord knows Nicolette's little Tarutaru Girl SMN self will jump with joy when she sees these. But... If you ask me, the way these Custom Avatar Skins were done makes them look like you're seeing them while on a MAJOR Acid Trip. But then again, the only time you'd SEE an Avatar in real life is if you were on an Acid Trip! Am I right? Another note. Claudhert also says he plans to submit modified Avatars. So I'll be expecting that. I also "Stamped" my name and e-mail address on the pictures of DATs I personally took... Except for the recent "Nude Hume Female" set... There was alot of small pictures I had to take, and it would've been time-consuming to keep doing as such. I also added some TXTs in the Monsters & Chocobos section. There was a bit of confusion as to where they should go. I put a TXT in each folder telling you both which Sub-Folder they go into, and which .DAT they'd replace to work correctly. A minor note. I didn't list the root folder. The root folder will always be the #1 folder. "ROM". Not "ROM2" or "ROM3". If it was another, I'd specify otherwise. I didn't have to specify otherwise because basically the folders are set up like this. "ROM" : Contains All The Maps, NPCs, Armors, Content, etc... as well as any new stuff patched into the server in FFXI. This includes the initial FFXI stuff, before "Rise of the Zilart" and "Chains of Promathia" even came out. All updates go into this root folder. "ROM2" : Contains All Map / NPC / Monster / Armor Data from "Rise of the Zilart". Essentially, it's RoZ itself. "ROM3" : Contains All Map / NPC / Monster / Armor Data from "Chains of Promathia". Essentially, it's CoP itself. When the next expansion, "Treasures of Aht Urhgan", comes out... The dump today's going to be fairly large, and I'm going to give you a heads-up right here and now. There's alot of "Adult" content in this update. Why? Simple. It's not that I'm intentionally choosing this stuff on purpose. I'm just snagging what's been made available to me, that's all. If you wanna point the finger of blame, point it at the original creator / source. We also got in a submission from Claudhert from Quetzalcoatl who's turned in a dump of DATs that I'm reviewing at this moment. We also have Re- Tooled weapons such as "Soul Edge Ver. 2" for Elvaan Male, thanks to submissions from Stromgarde from Siren (on FFXIonline.com's forums). On the same forums, Selenity from Valefor supplied Nanaa Mihgo's body for Mithra. So I tip my (Guide Beret) to her as well. Now... I'd like to take the time to talk about .DAT editing as a form of art in a sense. As I sit here and sift through these various .DAT files, and the modders that supply them... I can't help but notice the level of detail in some of these mods. Alot of them do. Take the typical "Armorless" Hume Male look (The Default one). Notice the shoulder, for example. More specifically the cloth as it drapes over the shoulder. The natural lighting effects create the illusion of shadow on the shoulder. However, the modders, as an added effect, made the area of the shoulder that's covered a little bit darker--They made the skin darker for that area, as well as shading parts of the arm where human arm muscles would be, further creating the illusion of depth. It's the small stuff like this that catches my eye. Now, there's a specific "Adult" mod that was created-- It was a Blessed Briault as a Tube Top for Hume Female. Now looking at the picture, you wouldn't think much of it, until you actually load it into your system and view it in either FFXI or the Model Viewer. For one, aside from the obvious fact that the editor made her... umm "assets" quite large, that's not what impressed me (really, ANYONE can sculpt huge breasts). What did was the fact that the underside was shaded, they shaded the edges of the briault for the... "protruding frame"... and they shaded, or lightened other areas like the neckline, backside, and "other areas". I wanted to see if this .DAT did anything more. And it did. I made the Hume Female perform the "Running" animation. And her chest actually BOUNCED up and down. The creator had enough skill (not to mention enough time on his hands) to make it so that her chest bounce opposite of the direction she moved in. I mean, that took quite a bit of skill--true, it may not be a good thing that one spends their time doing stuff like this--but I'm impressed with it as an art form. But I'm rambling again... Oh yeah. One final warning about this update... Some editor actually went to the trouble of creating "male genetalia" on Hume Male and Tarutaru Male. So, unless you want to have a "peek" (you perv), might wanna steer clear of those folders. Plus I got sidetracked by Kato Arabel (Also known as "Ouka" the Mithra DRK from the "Caitsith" server) by helping him create a Trailer for FFXI with my help. There's been some speculation as to why the "Adult 18+" section is in this collection. Allow me to re-establish the fact that this is a "DAT Collection". Generally, as I collect these .DATs, I try to NOT be biased as to what I get. Offensive, on a racial, sexual, or other level, I'd put it in the collection anyway. Heck, I know someone on Quetzalcoatl who's gay and told me he was actually "offended" by the "Hume Male In Opaline Dress" outfit. God only knows why. Other people, gay, straight, what-have-you, liked it too. Not everyone likes the same things, and frankly, I have no right to judge you people as to what you like and don't like. I put "everything" in here because I'm trying to keep "everyone" happy. Also, I put all these .DATs in here simply because I see DAT modding as a form of Art; not something to "pleasure yourself to", or offended by. If you do that, hey, that's on you. Amadaun's place has also provided a "Ducal Aketon" (That's Jeuno for those of you unfamiliar with Vana'diel's governments) for all races. I found the Healer's Cap with Cat Ears for Tarutaru. While shooting around other Japanese locations, I found someone went crazy with Hume Female .DATs; namely, based off the Anime Hentai series known as "Bible Black".
