| How did you come up with the name "Devimension"? |
| Well,
the name is sort of a "portmanteau" (or "combination") of my net name, "DeviFoxx",
and the word "Dimension". This site is my "Dimension", my "Space", my
"Realm" so to speak. Thus, I felt the name "Devimension" would be quite
apt for my needs. Truthfully, it is often misspelled into "Devimention" or "Devmeson" and the like. As much as I don't enjoy it, admittedly, mistakes can, and do often occur. As always, I try to grin and bear it as I have to deal with a larger pet-peeve of mine--people adding a non-existent "L" into my name and call me "Devil Fox", which I don't care for [but have learned to accept] either. |
| What does your site / group "do"? |
| As
previously explained, per the "Background Information" section, the site
at its core is a group or community of artists that perform and
construct freelance work and projects in the form of digital media. In Laymen's terms? We're graphic artists. |
| How long have you [the group] been around? |
| Off and on since 2001 or so. Things haven't really noticeably "taken off" up until the start of 2007 however. |
| I can't get (insert issue here) to work. Can you please help me out? |
|
Typically, I keep everything real nice and simple for my users. More often than not, I'll have a guide or two posted in the "User Tutorials" section. And then there's also the "DVP Forums" section which you can use to ask some of the other users there for help. If the problem you're facing continues to persist, feel free to use the "Contact Us" page (but only on the condition that you have exhausted all other options). |
| How can I help out? |
| Really, the best way is probably to show support in any way you can. Contributing artwork to the forums helps as well. Music, Videos, Pictures, Flash Files. Any type of media works fine, really. |
| Can I join you? |
| Well, you can join the forums and submit work there. If you're talking about becoming a staff member however, that is up to the administrators. |
| Could I hire you guys for a potential job with something that needs to get done? |
| Something like that would most likely need to be discussed before-hand with the site owner, or individual staff members. |
| I heard this site has (insert download here). Where can I get that at? |
| 80% of the time, all downloads are in the entire "Media" section, which is divided by category. Ask whomever referred you to this place where they saw the file at. |
| So I heard you guys really wrote out (insert written material here). Awesome! Where is it? |
|
Written text generally goes into the "Documentation" section. That was pretty simple, huh? |
| Can I share my own stuff on your forums? |
| Feel free. Try not to go "overboard" with submissions, however. Save pictures in .GIF format to conserve space (or host them on other sites entirely), and if you add attachments to your posts, try to file compress them beforehand to conserve space. |
| Is there any way to subscribe to your future projects? |
| Not really. At least not at the moment. There really is no "newsletter" service. You just may have to periodically check back at the website. |
| How often do you update? |
| There's usually at least one update a week unless stated otherwise (I.E., the webmaster is unavailable due to real-life circumstances.) |
| Are there any plans to release (insert name here)? I'm looking forward to that. |
| Keep your eyes peeled in the "News Updates" and "Net Journal" sections. |
| Anything else I need to know? |
| Not
much, other than that you have the thanks and gratitude of Devimension
Visual Productions ©. Keep up the support! |
